Maysa Osman is a first-generation student and Presidential Scholar at Georgia State University. She is majoring in public health and plans on pursuing the accelerated dual degree JD program. Maysa’s aspirational goal is to become a public health attorney who advocates for healthcare equity. Her desire to achieve and succeed encouraged her to seek mentorship from Step Ahead Scholars before she even reached 11th grade, which garnered her numerous acceptances to distinguished college programs. Throughout high school, as a dedicated writer and editor for the school’s literary magazine, a platform on which she shared her voice and advocated for global issues, which she deeply cares about. As an Honors College freshman, she was selected for a research assistantship in GSU’s Department of Criminology. She is an avid GSU Student Government member that also serves as a Liaison. As Maysa continues her success journey she is looking forward to making a huge societal impact, which includes supporting Step Ahead Scholars.

Lindsey Kapel is an alumna of Emory University, where she incubated and led a three year initiative, on the campus of Emory University, which inspired a group of undergraduate students to volunteer weekly with Step Ahead Scholars, as mentors. Lindsey’s commitment laid the groundwork and created a life-changing college access partnership and legacy, which continues to support and differentiate the Step Ahead Scholars model, through one-on-one mentorship. During the summer months while in undergrad Lindsey coordinated several SAS College Access Boot Camps. Before graduating Lindsey ensured the continued our partnership with Emory by establishing a team to follow in her footsteps. Lindsey, currently works as a Business Development Manager at BlackMarket in New York, while continuing to share her talents with Step Ahead Scholars as a mentor and thought leader.
